According to former India international Dinesh Karthik, Gautam Gambhir usually shows anger to shield his players. When Gambhir attempted to shield his player Naveen-ul-Haq from the RCB star during the 2023 Indian Premier League, the current head coach of India and Kohli had a major falling out. In the past, he has gotten into arguments with players like Shahid Afridi and Kamran Akmal on the pitch.
Karthik thinks that the team will gain from Gautam Gambhir’s style of play and that the players will love being around him. He said that the cricketer from Delhi won’t always hold back, and that may even bring out the best in a player, which would only benefit the national team’s chances of winning more games and trophies.
“The current group of players will appreciate that Gautam Gambhir’s anger usually comes out to protect his guys
He doesn’t get upset over trivial matters. On the fringes of a Legends League Cricket match, Karthik told reporters, “I’m sure he will have his turn with strong words for whoever it is required, and it is in his best interest to get the best out of the players.”
The Test series will be completely new for him: Dinesh Karthik
Although Gambhir has performed admirably as the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League, he has never had a coaching position, particularly in Test cricket. Karthik is excited to watch how Gambhir leads the show in red-ball cricket and feels that the forthcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh would be a fresh challenge for the southpaw.

He’s participated in a lot of T20 competitions. However, as a coach, this Test series will be entirely new to him, so it must be on his mind in the background. He is an experienced navigator of challenging waters. As a coach, having the ability to sense the pulse of the game is crucial, and he possesses this expertise. It will be interesting to see how it works out because he is still very early in his coaching career. Nonetheless, I am sure he will succeed in every way. It’s been working great for him so far,” Karthik continued.
