Navdeep, who took home the prize on September 7, was recently questioned about which player, MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli, he liked better. Navdeep surprised everyone by expressing how much he liked Indian captain Rohit Sharma. He also disclosed the moment he began to follow the captain of the T20 World Cup winning team.
Rohit Sharma is an excellent player. He had amassed two centuries. What a fantastic inning that was! Since then, I’ve been a fan of his,” Navdeep said in a recent Unplugged session.
With a remarkable 47.32 m effort in the final, Navdeep Singh, the most recent sporting sensation in India, took home the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw F41 category.
It’s unclear exactly what double tonne Navdeep was referring. The Indian team’s current captain has three wickets to his name: two against Sri Lanka in 2014 and 2017, and one against Australia in 2013.
Rohit, who finished as the second-highest run scorer at the tournament with 257 in eight innings, recently guided India to a historic T20 World Cup 2024 championship victory. Notably, though as a player, Rohit had also triumphed in the main event’s first edition.
Rohit will have a full plate in the upcoming months
Rohit would devote all of his attention to the ODIs and Tests after finishing the T20Is. He’s taken a break, missing the current Duleep Trophy in an attempt to recuperate before an extended home season. When the Test series against Bangladesh begins on September 19, Rohit will be back in action.

Three home Test matches against New Zealand in October will come after the two-match series against Bangladesh. India will visit Australia later this year for the crucial Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under. Along with another opportunity to win an ICC title, Rohit’s attention will be on the Champions title in Pakistan the next year.
