From September 4 to 7, Scotland will play host to Australia in a three-match T20I series. All of the players who competed in the T20 World Cup 2024 are available for the upcoming series, according to the team that Scotland has announced. It is noteworthy that the 17-man roster also includes Charlie Cassell and Jasper Davidson, who will be playing their first games for Scotland.
In the T20 World Cup 2024 match held in St Lucia, Scotland gave Australia a hard time. Before giving up to the third ball of the final over, they forced the Australians work hard to defend a target of 181.
For the first T20I, the two sides will play again in Edinburgh on September 4. Scotland’s head coach, Doug Watson, made a joke about how eager his team is to beat the Australians.
“I am quite happy. I’m confident that our players won’t require any extra incentive for this series, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to play one of the top teams in the world. It’s a fantastic chance for them to play among elite athletes. They want to compete, put on some incredible shows, and really challenge this Australian squad,” Watson stated, as cited by Cricket Scotland.
“Winning this series is our aim. It’s crucial that we win the opening game because it will set up the next two games. “Everyone in Scotland, including the players, staff, and supporters, will have an amazing week,” he continued.
