In the IPL 2023 match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, spinner Harpreet Brar caused a lot of trouble by taking four wickets and destroying DC’s batting team. Notably, when the home team was trying to get 168 runs, starters David Warner and Phil Salt played really well. But Brar quickly got rid of Salt, Rilee Rossouw, David Warner, and Manish Pandey to bring PBKS back into the game.
Virender Sehwag, a former India opening, said that Harpreet Brar’s ball that got rid of Manish Pandey was like Shane Warne’s “ball of the century.” He also said that the 27-year-old bowler was smart with his line and length and that he was great with the ball during the powerplay.
“Brar was so great. To bowl an over during the power play and get hit for runs was a great way to bounce back. Manish Pandey was hit by a ball that was like Shane Warne’s ball of the century. Rilee Rossouw played a bad shot, but the ball that sent Warner off was also good. Overall, though, Brar’s bowling was very smart,” Sehwag said while talking to Cricbuzz.
“This is the first time the Punjabis are to blame for Punjab’s victory. “Prabhsimran and Brar both play for PCA and PBKS and did great things to win the game for their teams,” the former bowler said.
When those four wickets fell, DC lost control of the game: Sehwag
Sehwag also said that the fact that DC lost four wickets in a row cost them the match in the end. He also said that the team led by David Warner should have been more patient, and if they had, the results might have been different.
“When those four wickets fell, DC lost control of the game. DC didn’t do a good job with the bat. “If the DC batters had been patient, the runs were there, and the result could have been different,” Sehwag said.
PBKS moved up to number six on the IPL points table after the win, while DC stayed at the bottom.
