Gujarat Titans (135 for 6) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (128 for 7) by seven runs (Hardik 66, Saha 47, Krunal 2-16, Stoinis 2-20; Rahul 68, Noor 2-18, Mohit 2-17). The combined efforts of Noor Ahmad, Mohit Sharma, and Mohammed Shami prevented the Lucknow Super Giants from winning a game that was very much in their control. The Gujarat Titans bowlers turned the tables on the hosts when they needed a comfortable 31 to win from 36 deliveries with nine wickets remaining and a well-set KL Rahul at the crease.
The turnaround began with two wickets from Noor Ahmad, which increased the strain on the Super Giants to 23 off 18 balls. Mohit then unleashed a flurry of precise yorkers and slower balls for six singles; Shami bowled a tight 19th over for five runs; and when 12 were required off six balls, Mohit effectively ended the game by dismissing Rahul and Marcus Stoinis on the second and third deliveries of the final over. Ayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda were run out while attempting dangerous second runs, and a dot ball sealed the victory for the Titans.
The Titans now have eight points, the same as the three teams above them in the IPL standings, and have a 3-0 record against the Super Giants.
