Following his appointment as Pakistan’s new team director, Micky Arthur discussed his goals and declared that the Babar Azam-led team has the talent to win a World Cup and rank first in all three formats of the game. The 54-year-old added that he has closely studied the team for the previous five years and is therefore aware of where they stand right now.
Babar Azam was mentioned by the previous Pakistani head coach, who referred to him as the best batter in the current cricket world. He will collaborate closely with the Pakistan captain to help him grow since he has room for improvement, in his opinion.
The speed of his hands was what most mesmerized me. I was astounded when Grant Bradburn first instructed me to gaze at the man in the nets. He possessed a talent and hand speed I had never seen before, and the key was to give him chances to succeed.
I was aware that he would play a significant role on the team. I think he’s the best batsman in the world right now, and he has a ton of talent. He may still use some work, in my opinion. I’ll keep putting it to him. According to Arthur, he will become a legend in the game.
“They say Pakistan stays in your blood, and it very certainly does. I’ve always known there was a moment when I had strong emotional ties to both this nation and the cricket team. When questioned about his goals for the Pakistani team, he stated, “It’s a privilege for me; in fact, to come back and help, maybe win a World Cup, get us to number one in the world in all formats of the game.
Notably, the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Australian international have agreed to a one-year contract. He communicated with PCB CEO Najam Sethi for a considerable amount of time before Micky Arthur eventually signed the contract on April 20.
